We have a youth employment program, a youth garden open to any youth organization or individual, and a youth farmers market program.
Wangari Gardens has an unpaid internship program for college and non college residents who want a more structured approach to learning about gardening, community organizing, and community development. This program is flexible and can work with your interests and availability. Check our Idealist page for internship opportunities!
Donate to help buy building materials, soil, garden tools, and more! All donations are tax deductible. We also accept tools, plants, and supplies you’d like to contribute to the community!
Or if you or anyone you know would like to donate building or gardening tools, lumber (rot resistant is best!), soil, or compost, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will gladly come pick it up.
In order for the park to keep improving, we need your help! There are endless opportunities for volunteering your time and skills, whether it be through planting, photographing, fundraising, planning, building, teaching, or any other task you can contribute! We are excited to help DC master gardeners, DCPS high school volunteers, and any other individuals, groups, or organizations that require community service hours, meet their volunteer hour goal. Contact us at email@example.com or (202) 670-5459. Also, check our Idealist page for specific volunteer positions!

We offer tours, workshops, large projects in need of volunteers, and training for people who want to volunteer on their own time. Sundays, 12noon-4pm. The first Sunday of each month is a community meeting. It will be a place to voice concerns, feedback, proposals, etc for gardeners and community members.
