WG for Clean Rivers: Partnering with DC Water

DC Water is planning to build rain gardens around DC. They’ve chosen to build a few on Wangari Gardens! These efforts should help reduce the demand on city infrastructure, like a proposed giant tunnel through Rock Creek Park, by soaking up water that can otherwise overwhelm the sewage system during storms. WG’s Josh Singer has been working with them to choose a good site, without encroaching on the usable spaces of the garden.

Join us and DC Water for a community meeting at Wangari Gardens, weather permitting, this Saturday, November 23 at 1pm.  It will be short and sweet but it would be great if we could get as many community members out there to learn what DC Water is doing and give them feedback.

Please come out if you can!
